Two minutes of nano-ionic steam before you cleanse. It softens sebum so the pore actually empties, and leaves skin damp enough that whatever you put on next absorbs instead of sitting on top.
Why it works
A hot flannel opens the pore. Nano-ionic steam goes further - the particles are fine enough to soften what is inside it.
Ionised particles far finer than the steam off a bowl of hot water, so they settle into the pore instead of beading on the surface of your face.
Warm, damp skin takes up serum far more readily than cold, dry skin. Two minutes of steam is what makes the rest of your routine earn its price.

How to use it
Straight from the manufacturer's instructions. The distance and the water type are the two things people get wrong.
Distilled or purified water only. Tap water scales up the heating element and shortens the life of the unit. Do not fill past the MAX line.
Give it a moment to heat, then aim the arm where you want it. The nozzle swivels, so you can steam sitting upright or lying back.
Stay at least 25 cm from the nozzle. Closer than that and you are not getting finer steam, you are getting hot water on your face.
Cleanse, then serum, while the skin is still damp. This is the window the steam bought you - do not spend it looking at your phone.

Ask a questionDistilled or purified water only - this is the one rule that matters. Tap water leaves mineral scale on the heating element, which weakens the steam over a few months and eventually kills the unit. A gallon of distilled water costs about a dollar and lasts months.
At least 25 cm from the nozzle. Sitting closer does not give you more benefit - the steam has not expanded and cooled yet, so you are effectively holding your face over boiling water. Two minutes at a sensible distance beats thirty seconds up close.
It is dual voltage - 120V and 240V - so it runs on either standard. Pick EU, UK or US above and that plug is what ships, no adapter in the box because you should not need one. If you are ordering to a country not on that list, email us before you buy and we will tell you which one fits.
Yes, and it is one of the better ways to use it. Steam through the mask and the sheet stays saturated instead of drying out halfway through, which is when most people give up on it.
Two or three times a week is plenty for most skin. Every day is too much for dry or reactive skin - steam is a solvent for sebum, and you do want to keep some. If you are on retinoids or acids, start at once a week and see how you get on.
